Happy 3rd Birthday Jonathan!
It is hard to believe 3 years have passed since we held you in our arms for the very first time. You are a busy, energetic, passionate, funny, and loving little boy. And we are so thankful to God for you!
It is sooooo hard to get good pictures of you, because you are never still!
Daddy's little helper!
You sure are a big boy!
Moo!
You LOVE being outside! We are thankful for super sweet neighbors who let us play on their play set all the time - you call it the park :-)
You continue to climb EVERYTHING!
A rare nap in the car.
Washing dishes - Mommy can't wait until you can REALLY wash them!
I love the relationship you have with your little sister :-)
Your new thing is to bring Mommy the camera and ask me to take a picture. But then you don't stop moving long enough for the camera to catch your smile!
Rodeo Riding Jonathan!
You also LOVE water - baths, swimming, rain, the waterhose.
Haven't figured out that these things take money and are supposed to move and sing, lol! You have become Mommy's shopping buddy. On the weekends Daddy and Kellen will stay home while you help Mommy grocery shop. You love picking out a treat at the bread store, and sitting on the arcade rides at Walmart.
We are still working on letting you pick out your own clothes for the day ;-)
Jonathan Lewis, you...
Weighed 35 lbs last time we weighed you, and may be even a pound or two heavier now.
Are 39.5 inches tall - you seem to be fairly tall compared to others your age.
Are wearing size 4 clothes and size 10 shoes.
Are about 95% potty trained - we still have to remind you to go a lot. Especially when you start to dance, cross your legs, hold your bottom, or talk about how Kellen goes poop in the potty ;-)
Love your sister - sometimes a little too much! You are very passionate, but your sister doesn't always appreciate being hugged and touched (you really like to put your feet on people!) all the time. When Kellen is napping you are always asking where she is and wanting to go wake her up.
LOVE music! Some of your favorite songs are: God is so Good, Away in the Manger, Hallelu Hallelu Hallelu Hallujah, Twinkle Twinkle, Ask Seek and Knock, Bob the Builder's Theme Song, The BIBLE, Who Did Swallow Jonah, and many many more. I love it when you don't quite get the words right ... One day you were walking around the house singing, "I will make you fishers of fish, fishers of fish, fishers of fish!" instead of "fishers of men!" And another day you were singing "Run away, run away, run away, and the burden of my heart run away!"
Carry our little kitchen stool all over the house to help you reach and climb things - usually things you shouldn't be reaching for or climbing!
Are very excited about turning three!
Love books and going to the library.
Hate the sun being in your eyes and almost always wear sunglasses in the car.
You think Dora the Explorer's name is "Do-do-do-do-do-Dora" like in the theme song. So anytime you see a Dora anywhere, you say, "Mommy, there is Do-Do-Do-Do-Do-Dora!"
You think you are much older and should be able to do much more than a 3 year old can and should do. You think you can cook, wash dishes, help yourself to food in the freezer/fridge, tell your little sister what to do, etc.
You do not nap anymore :-(
Love to count, and count anything you can find. Reading a book often takes a long time, because you have to count all the like things on a page.
Love it when we go for family walks. You wear your "running shoes" and you and Daddy run until you wear out. You are a very steady runner with endurance. One day you ran 3/4 of a mile. Then the next day you opted for the stroller early into our walk - I think your legs were sore from the day before :-) You love going off the path to explore the woods and creek with Daddy, and usually have your hands and pockets full of treasures: sticks, rocks, flowers, squirrel nuts (acorns), etc.
Are all boy and LOVE dirt :-D
Love your aunts, uncles, and cousins! You ask to go visit them all the time and are so happy when you get to see them.
Amaze me with the things you are starting to understand and the words you are adding to your vocabulary.
And oh my, you sure do say and do the funniest things:
*While trying to climb out of the stroller while Jeff was pushing it, "Daddy, you have to be careful with me."
*After I added some sauce to you beans and rice that you weren't enjoying eating for dinner one night, you said, "That looks wonderful Mommy, thank you!"
*Jeff and I were having a conversation while in the car driving somewhere about how old you should be before you stay away from us (with grandparents or cousins). I said that I thought you would do fine going with Gramma to visit cousins if you were only gone for 2-3 days. Jeff said, "No, I don't think so." Not even realizing you were paying attention, we heard a little voice from the back seat say, "I don't fink so eiver!"
*Awoke in the middle (I think it was like 4am) of the night a few weeks ago and began singing the Bob the Builder theme song very loudly! Then you talked for a little bit and went to sleep.
*While in the bath tub with your sister the other day you said, "Let me see," pushed in her little belly, and announced, "Nope, your kiwi (pee wee) is missing!" LOL!
*You have started asking to see the baby in my belly, and will pull up my shirt to talk to her. You always asks if it is time for her to come out yet. And a few days ago you sang her Jesus Loves Me! If I ask you what we should name the new baby you say, "Baby Elwa. But we already have one Baby Elwa (one of our nieces is named Ella)."
*And just this morning I will admit to not being very happy or joyful when you woke me up at 5:30. I tried my hardest to convince you it was still night time and put you back to bed. You then woke your sister, and you both began to giggle and squeal. A few minutes later I had to smile and laugh when I heard you both singing the first verse of Holy Holy Holy. "Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee! Thankfully, you then went back to sleep for a little while.
Oh how we all love you, our sweet sweet boy!
Happy Birthday big guy!
