We're Moving...

... to a new blog location.  Please come visit our new blog at  www.oganadventures.blogspot.com .  We ran out of picture storage space for this blog because I had been uploading my pictures too big :-/ .  I am a bit behind with posts and hope to be caught up soon over at our new blog.

22 Weeks!

We are 22 weeks!  Now that I am feeling better, the past few weeks have flown by.  And with lots of birthdays and holidays between now and this little one's birth, I know the rest of this pregnancy will probably pass quickly too.  We have been terrible at taking photos this pregnancy!  With Jonathan we took a belly picture every week.  With this baby I think we have only taken 2 thus far!

My belly is really growing!

Jeff wanted to try out our tripod that we were given a while ago and have never used.  I guess he wanted to make sure it was set up and working ;-)

We love you little one!

Pregnancy Update
This is a super active little one!  I am feeling lots of movement.  Not just kicks and punches, but lots of rolling and moving.  Jeff has been able to feel her moving for a few weeks now.  She is especially active at night when I am going to sleep.  I think she is the most active of my babies thus far.

We still don't have a name for this little one.  We have thought we had a name picked a few different times, only to change our minds a few days later :-)  My goal is to have her named before we head to the hospital, so we still have plenty of time to decide

We have started walking a few mornings a week since the weather has cooled down.  And I know I need it!  I feel like my belly and face have both gotten super round the past week or so!

I am in all maternity clothes, except pjs, and loose workout clothes

The nausea is completely gone - YAY!  I am feeling great, other than headaches every few days.  I have always been prone to headaches in the 2nd trimester.  I know I get them more frequently when I don't get enough sleep.  Sometimes caffeine helps, and a good nights sleep will usually get rid of them, but I gave in and took a Tylenol one evening for an especially bad one last week (I think that was my first time to ever take medicine while pregnant).

I was at the library with Jonathan and Kellen last week playing in the kids room.  A lady was there with her daughter and smiled and told Kellen hi!  She then looked over at Jonathan and said, "wow, your kids really look like you!"  Both kids definitely have some of Jeff in them, but for the most part they seem to look more like me.  So it will be fun to see what this little girl looks like!  Jeff was the cutest kid, with adorable red curls - oh how I would love a little girl with curly red hair :-)

Cravings - orange juice, chocolate milk (Jeff is convinced he is craving it too).  I have never been a big soda drinker, but have actually been craving them with crushed ice the past week or so.  It is a good thing we don't keep soda in the house much!

Our Big 3 Year Old!

Happy 3rd Birthday Jonathan!
It is hard to believe 3 years have passed since we held you in our arms for the very first time.  You are a busy, energetic, passionate, funny, and loving little boy.  And we are so thankful to God for you!

It is sooooo hard to get good pictures of you, because you are never still!

Daddy's little helper!

You sure are a big boy!

Moo!

You LOVE being outside!  We are thankful for super sweet neighbors who let us play on their play set all the time - you call it the park :-)

You continue to climb EVERYTHING!

A rare nap in the car.

Washing dishes - Mommy can't wait until you can REALLY wash them!

I love the relationship you have with your little sister :-)

Your new thing is to bring Mommy the camera and ask me to take a picture.  But then you don't stop moving long enough for the camera to catch your smile!

Rodeo Riding Jonathan!

You also LOVE water - baths, swimming, rain, the waterhose.

Haven't figured out that these things take money and are supposed to move and sing, lol!  You have become Mommy's shopping buddy.  On the weekends Daddy and Kellen will stay home while you help Mommy grocery shop.  You love picking out a treat at the bread store, and sitting on the arcade rides at Walmart.

We are still working on letting you pick out your own clothes for the day ;-)

Jonathan Lewis, you...

Weighed 35 lbs last time we weighed you, and may be even a pound or two heavier now.

Are 39.5 inches tall - you seem to be fairly tall compared to others your age.

Are wearing size 4 clothes and size 10 shoes.
Are about 95% potty trained - we still have to remind you to go a lot.  Especially when you start to dance, cross your legs, hold your bottom, or talk about how Kellen goes poop in the potty ;-)

Love your sister - sometimes a little too much!  You are very passionate, but your sister doesn't always appreciate being hugged and touched (you really like to put your feet on people!) all the time.  When Kellen is napping you are always asking where she is and wanting to go wake her up.

LOVE music!  Some of your favorite songs are: God is so Good, Away in the Manger, Hallelu Hallelu Hallelu Hallujah, Twinkle Twinkle, Ask Seek and Knock, Bob the Builder's Theme Song, The BIBLE, Who Did Swallow Jonah, and many many more.  I love it when you don't quite get the words right ... One day you were walking around the house singing, "I will make you fishers of fish, fishers of fish, fishers of fish!" instead of "fishers of men!"  And another day you were singing "Run away, run away, run away, and the burden of my heart run away!"

Carry our little kitchen stool all over the house to help you reach and climb things - usually things you shouldn't be reaching for or climbing!

Are very excited about turning three!

Love books and going to the library.

Hate the sun being in  your eyes and almost always wear sunglasses in the car.

You think Dora the Explorer's name is "Do-do-do-do-do-Dora" like in the theme song.  So anytime you see a Dora anywhere, you say, "Mommy, there is Do-Do-Do-Do-Do-Dora!"

You think you are much older and should be able to do much more than a 3 year old can and should do.  You think you can cook, wash dishes, help yourself to food in the freezer/fridge, tell your little sister what to do, etc.

You do not nap anymore :-(

Love to count, and count anything you can find.  Reading a book often takes a long time, because you have to count all the like things on a page.

Love it when we go for family walks.  You wear your "running shoes" and you and Daddy run until you wear out.  You are a very steady runner with endurance.  One day you ran 3/4 of a mile.  Then the next day you opted for the stroller early into our walk - I think your legs were sore from the day before :-)  You love going off the path to explore the woods and creek with Daddy, and usually have your hands and pockets full of treasures: sticks, rocks, flowers, squirrel nuts (acorns), etc.

Are all boy and LOVE dirt :-D

Love your aunts, uncles, and cousins!  You ask to go visit them all the time and are so happy when you get to see them.

Amaze me with the things you are starting to understand and the words you are adding to your vocabulary.

And oh my, you sure do say and do the funniest things:
*While trying to climb out of the stroller while Jeff was pushing it, "Daddy, you have to be careful with me."

*After I added some sauce to you beans and rice that you weren't enjoying eating for dinner one night, you said, "That looks wonderful Mommy, thank you!"

*Jeff and I were having a conversation while in the car driving somewhere about how old you should be before you stay away from us (with grandparents or cousins).  I said that I thought you would do fine going with Gramma to visit cousins if you were only gone for 2-3 days.  Jeff said, "No, I don't think so."  Not even realizing you were paying attention, we heard a little voice from the back seat say, "I don't fink so eiver!"

*Awoke in the middle (I think it was like 4am) of the night a few weeks ago and began singing the Bob the Builder theme song very loudly!  Then you talked for a little bit and went to sleep.

*While in the bath tub with your sister the other day you said, "Let me see," pushed in her little belly, and announced, "Nope, your kiwi (pee wee) is missing!"  LOL!

*You have started asking to see the baby in my belly, and will pull up my shirt to talk to her.  You always asks if it is time for her to come out yet.  And a few days ago you sang her Jesus Loves Me!  If I ask you what we should name the new baby you say, "Baby Elwa.  But we already have one Baby Elwa (one of our nieces is named Ella)."

*And just this morning I will admit to not being very happy or joyful when you woke me up at 5:30.  I tried my hardest to convince you it was still night time and put you back to bed.  You then woke your sister, and you both began to giggle and squeal.  A few minutes later I had to smile and laugh when I heard you both singing the first verse of Holy Holy Holy.  "Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee!  Thankfully, you then went back to sleep for a little while.

Oh how we all love you, our sweet sweet boy!
Happy Birthday big guy!

Our little K. Bug!

Our little K. Bug isn't so little anymore!  We went in last month for her 18 month (a month late at 19 months) well child check.  She is healthy as can be and growing like a weed.  At her 12 month well child she weighed in at 16lb 8oz, putting her at a whopping 1% for weight.  At 19 months she weighed in at 23lbs, putting her in the upper 20th%.  This little girl likes her food!  I seriously think she would eat until she popped if I let her :-)  And in the last 6 months she has grown 3 inches; she is now 31.5 in, putting her right around 50th% for height.

First time wearing pigtails!

Cheese!

Clean and snuggly girl!

Mmmmm, cupcake!

Kellen, you......

Are a super sweet little girl, and we are so thankful God created you and placed you in our family!

Are a really good sleeper.  You go to bed without fussing, snuggling right in with your thumb and blanket.  If I tell you it's bedtime or nap time you will usually start walking to your crib.  You just recently dropped your morning nap, and take a 2-3 hour afternoon nap.  You go to bed between 7:30-8:30 and usually sleep 11 to 12 hours.

Love your big brother, most of the time!  I love to hear the two of you playing, giggling, and singing together.

Love to sing!  Some of your favorites are: Jesus Loves Me, Holy Holy Holy, He Made the Stars to Shine, God is So Good, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and If You're Happy and You Know it .

You are starting to follow in your brother's footsteps - you love to climb!  I have been impressed with some of the playground equipment you can climb.

Love to try on shoes, and do a better job of putting on your own shoes than your big brother :-)

Love church and go straight into your class without fussing.

Can shriek and scream really loud when your brother is pestering you - and I mean REALLY LOUD!  I hear a lot of, "No Johnny, no!"  and "Mine!"

Call your brother "Johnny" and Mommy thinks it is super cute, even though she has always been adamant about his name being Jonathan.

Can count to ten.  We didn't actually know you could do this until a few weeks ago, I guess you have been listening to all the counting your big brother does!

Finally starting getting teeth at 14 months old!  You have ten now.

Like to snuggle with soft things.  Recently you found a pair of Jonathan's pjs that had been left on the floor.  You grabbed them and walked around the house with them held between your shoulder and neck, while sucking your thumb all morning.

Wear a size 4 diaper, size 18 month clothes, and a size 4.5-5 shoe.

Are a TOTAL DADDY'S GIRL!  To the point that you want nothing to do with me if he is around.  If you are hurt, you will walk right past me to search the house for him.

Seriously love your food!  You often wake up in the morning yelling from your crib, "Mommy, eat!"  If I don't immediately clear the table after a meal, you will return to the table and try to eat whatever is left on the plates.  You eat very well with a spoon, but usually after a few bites you just hold the spoon pointed up in the air with one hand, and eat your food with your other hand.

Love babies and I can't wait to see you interact with your baby sister in a few months!

We love you Kellen Rebekah!!!!!!!!

We Are Having ......

...Another Baby!

On June 7th we were super excited to discover that God was growing our family.  This is the first of our pregnancies that I have had symptoms before taking a test, so I very strongly suspected that I might be pregnant.  We are due Feb 9th, the day after Kellen's second birthday.

And the nausea set in.  My first two pregnancies were a dream - felt great and had no nausea (I think I had a few minutes of nausea a few afternoons with Kellen's pregnancy, but that was it.)  This time was much different - nausea all day for weeks.  And I had major food aversions and cravings.  My kiddos enjoyed all sorts of foods they have never had before - chips, lemonade, frozen pizza (yuck, can't believe it sounded good at the time).  A quick detour to Kroger when we were out and about one afternoon ended with the below items.  I have never craved something so strongly in my life as I did these foods.  Can we say salty and sour!  You couldn't pay me to eat those chips now - I swear they must have been created by a pregnant woman :-)  And I don't even like pickles!

Around week 13 I started to feel like myself again.  So it was time to get up off the couch, clean my house which had gone into utter disarray, and start fixing healthy dinners for my family again.  I do need to add here what a wonderful husband I have - he ate a lot of PB and J for dinner those first few weeks, and didn't complain once!

16 weeks

I think Jeff's finger got in this picture, but I love how J is mimicking my pose and the smile on his face!  Jonathan is completely convinced that he has a little baby in his tummy too.  He talks about it a lot :-)  One afternoon he lifted up my shirt to look underneath and announced, "Nope, no baby!"

This is a completely unflattering pose/outfit on me, but I love that both J and K were holding their tummies too!

And we found out this week that this little one is a......
GIRL!

We are having a really hard time agreeing on a girl name, so hopefully she will have a name before she arrives!  I have a name I really love, so we will see if Jeff comes around and decides to like it too ;-)

July 25, 2012

One evening last week both kiddos were running fairly high temperatures.  So we snuggled on the couch and watched movies.  I don't like seeing my kids feeling poorly, but I sure do enjoy the snuggles!

Moo!

Chick-Fil-A had a day recently where you received a free meal if you came in dressed as a cow.  So we dressed up and really enjoyed a free dinner out as a family.

Our little cows :-)

Mooo!

Cute little cow tail

Sweet little calf!

Moo moo!  EAT MOR CHIKIN!

Thank you Chick-Fil-A!
