I headed to KY for the week for my good friend, Rebekah Callahan's wedding. Jeff flew in Friday for the festivities. All my brothers and their families were there too! A great time was had by all at Laurel Lake Baptist Camp, where the wedding was held and where the bride and groom now live :-) Pictures from the rehearsal dinner....

After being in KY all week without Jeff, I was very glad to see him when he flew in Friday :-)

April

The first weekend of April, we embarked on another road trip. We headed North to Illinois for the funeral of Jeff's grandmother, Charlene Wedding. It was a wonderful weekend with family and friends, celebrating Charlene's life.

Elsah, Illinois is a historic town that I love! Walking around is liking stepping back in town. I especially like the old houses and buildings.

The town's meeting place - a really neat building, with high ceilings and beautiful paintwork on the walls. We held a celebration here Sunday evening, in memory of Charlene. Here we are getting everything ready earlier that day.

FEBRUARY FUN!

February was a great month! We started out the month with the first visit to our OB, where we were able to see the baby's heart beating on the ultrasound! We then headed to Kentucky for a weekend visit with my parents, and on to South Carolina for a quick lunch and afternoon visit with Jeff's sister Sarah and her awesome roomates. For Valentine's Day weekend, my brother Scott and his family came for an overnight visit which was a lot of fun! They live less than 3 hours away and we hope to see a lot of them in the future :-) One afternoon we took advantage of the sunshine and went hiking at Petit Jean State Park - back to where Jeff proposed to me last May at Cedar Falls. And the month came to an end with a murder mystery dinner/birthday bash for friend's Marc and Tim. February also marked the beginning of classes and orientation for my new job as an RN at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.

I came home from running errands one morning to a Valentine's surprise - Jeff had cleaned up the kitchen and living room, and left me a beautiful arrangement of flowers, candles, and a card on the kitchen table - thank you sweetie!

January 2008 - we're pregnant!

The highlight of January 2009 for us was finding out that WE'RE PREGNANT! I had a positive test on January 20th, and told Jeff that afternoon in a letter. We wrote and then read each other letters for part of a couples devotional we've been doing together. I think I really surprised him with the announcement at the end of the letter :-) . I took two more tests the next morning just to be sure! We are very excited :-D .
