40 Weeks

On Wednesday the 2nd we said both "hello" and "goodbye" to our due date!  And I am still pregnant :-)

Pregnancy Updates

* We are almost 5 cm dilated and 70% effaced

* My mom arrived on last Saturday and will be here until Kellen comes - what a blessing!

* Jonathan has no clue how his world is about to change!

*We are just waiting and ready to hold our little girl :-)

* I am still feeling pretty good - big and bulky, but can't complain really.

* We are still walking a few times a week - usually about 2 miles.

* I continue to have BH contractions, and they do feel like they are a little lower and crampier at times, but nothing truly painful or uncomfortable yet.

* I continue to sleep well and only have to get up once at night to use the restroom.

* I have little bits of heartburn every now and then, but never even enough to take anything for it - I know I have been very blessed in this area of pregnancy.  Jeff on the other hand had heartburn so bad one night last week that he was up for hours, LOL.

*Even with my short legs and long arms it is VERY difficult to put on tennis shoes.

* We are scheduled to induce by breaking my water on Feb. 10th if Kellen doesn't come on her own before then - prayers are appreciated that she will come on her own sometime the next few days.

* I am down to 2 shirts that are long enough to cover my belly!  I have mostly been wearing Jeff's white undershirts (and he only has a few of one particular brand that are long enough).

* I no longer care if my hair looks nice or if my legs are shaved for labor - I am tired of trying to keep my hair fixed and legs shaved all the time just in case :-P

38.5 weeks

We are now 38.5 weeks!

* I now feel like we are to the waiting stage - every day is 1 day closer to meeting our little girl!  We probably still have 2-3 weeks though if she is anything like her brother.

*I am still feeling pretty good for the most part.

* Bag is packed for the hospital though, just in case.

* At my appointment this week I was 3-4cm.

* I have BH contractions fairly frequently, and every now and then I will have a stronger, crampy feeling contraction. 

*My mom is coming 1 week from today!  We can't wait for Gramma to arrive :-)

* I feel like my belly is smaller than it was with Jonathan at this point, but that the rest of me is bigger - LOL!

* I have been enjoying some nice, relaxing days with Jonathan - staying home in our pjs, reading books, snuggling, and playing toys.

* The past few nights my hips have started aching when I lay on my side, so I am doing the big flip flop from side to side every few hours.  So thankful this just started recently, as it started much earlier with Jonathan.

* On days that I actually fix my hair (it has been in a ponytail a lot lately), I find myself thinking, "Today would be a good day to have this baby, cause my hair is clean and fixed!"  Whenever God chooses for Kellen to come, I truly doubt at that point that I will care what my hair looks like ;-)

Merry Christmas - just a little late!

We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas.  We stayed in Arkansas this year and enjoyed our time together as a family relaxing and celebrating our Savior's birth.

Presents under the tree Christmas morning!  This little tree was a prize from a Christmas 5K run my friend Robin and I ran the first year Jeff and I were married.  We have enjoyed using it the past 3 years, but considered getting a bigger tree this year.  It didn't take us long to decide that we should probably give Jonathan one more year before putting up a bigger tree where he could reach the ornaments - just too much temptation!  We did find him a few times this year up on the table with our little tree :-)

 Yummy French toast for Christmas breakfast!  My (Kibbie's) family ate beef stroganoff every Christmas Eve for dinner, and biscuits with chip beef gravy every Christmas morning.  We are continuing the beef stroganoff tradition, but since Jeff isn't a huge fan of chip beef gravy, we decided to start our own tradition of French toast for Christmas morning.  We had biscuits with chip beef gravy for New Years morning though - I think that will become a tradition too, because I LOVE my mom's chip beef gravy recipe and have to have it sometime during the holiday!

 We moved everything to the living room after breakfast - Jonathan wasn't sure what to do with all those pretty gifts.  We received some wonderful gifts from grandparents, aunts, and uncles - thank you!

He still isn't quite sure about the whole gift opening thing.

37 Weeks

We are now at 37 weeks!

PREGNANCY UPDATES

* The weird dreams are back: I dreamed that I was graduating from college, and that as each student walked onto the stage they were supposed to say their name and degree.  I had my name down pat, but when I got up on the stage I could not remember what my degree was in.  So I said, "Hi, my name is Kibbie Ogan.  And I can't remember what my degree is in."  I was super embarrassed in the dream and kept thinking that my parents were probably dying of embarrassment too!

* I started weekly OB appointments today

- I was down 1 lb, which is a first!

- BP good

- fingertip dilated, 50% effaced, and baby is still stationed high (At 37 weeks with J, I was already 4 cm!  Goes to show how different each pregnancy can be)

- doctor said, "Doesn't look like you'll be having a baby tonight!"

- fundal height measures right at 37 weeks

* I am craving grapefruit big time.  Not really sure it's pregnancy related though, because Jeff is craving them too!  They are just so yummy :-)

*My stretch marks are starting to itch like crazy (they did with J too).  It would appear that I have a bit of the PUPPPs rash in them (The doctor agreed with my self diagnosis).

*I have been walking a few days a week.  Now it's time to increase the walking these last few weeks to see if it will help things along (It didn't help much with Jonathan - we were walking 3-5 miles a day, but we still went to almost 42 weeks.  But I was pretty far progressed, so maybe it will help things progress again.)

An Arkansas Snow!

We got about 5 inches of snow!!!  And we have thoroughly enjoyed it :-)  This is the first snow that Jonathan has been big enough to enjoy, and enjoy it he did!  Jeff stayed home from work for two days, and we had some wonderful family time.  We enjoyed snow cream (a first for Jeff and Jonathan), hot chocolate, card games, playing in the snow, playing in the snow, and some more time out playing in the snow!

 We were out playing in the snow by 9 o'clock Monday morning.  The neighborhood was very peaceful, quite, and still - every now and then a truck would venture down the road.  Jonathan loves cars and trucks and proceeds to yell and point everytime he sees one!

I (and baby Kellen) enjoyed playing in the snow too!

Time to head inside to thaw out.  I had multiple layers of clothes on Jonathan, but he managed to sit in the snow a lot, and after 30-45 minutes his clothes were getting pretty wet and we decided to head inside. 

Check out that hat hair!  Jonathan was very upset when we took him inside and kept pointing to go back outside. So we threw all our wet snow gear in the dryer, took a nap, and then headed back outside later in the afternoon!

Jeff gave him this snowball to play with, and he got super excited and started yelling, "baa, baa" (ball, ball!).

 We are now 36 weeks!

Pregnancy Updates

*I am now officially feeling VERY LARGE!

*Putting on socks/shoes, shaving my legs, and cutting my toenails are very very difficult.

*I feel like the baby has dropped some - I am feeling sore/tender/bruised, not sure what the correct word would be. My bladder is majorly squished, which means very frequent trips to the restroom.

*I am still sleeping well, usually only waking once during the night. We were given a mattress/box spring set a few weeks ago, and I don't know what it is about them, but they are the PERFECT firmness/softness for pregnancy. I am only sleeping with ONE PILLOW, and that is under my head! Long before this point in Jonathan's pregnancy I was having to use 3 or 4 pillows to prop up my belly, hips, legs, support my back, etc. and would still wake up with aching hips, back, legs. This mattress is a true blessing!

*I dreamed that I felt Kellen's leg coming out, and told Jeff we had to leave RIGHT THEN for the hospital because the baby was breech and was coming out! He told me he needed to shower before we could leave, and refused to leave before showering. I told him my mother would go ahead and take me and that I hoped he didn't miss our child's birth :-) When I told Jeff about my dream the next day he said, "I could have just showered at the hospital if I needed a shower that bad!" I told him I had even said that in the dream but he had insisted on showering at home. My husband is very serious about hygiene!

*I am having BH contractions ALL THE TIME!

*I think I gained 7 lbs in 2 weeks over Christmas - yikes! I am officially a few pounds over what I weighed when I delivered Jonathan. I am now trying to walk a lot :-)

*My stretch marks are stretching! And they are starting to itch again :-( They were pretty bad the last few weeks with Jonathan, and it looks like it will be the same this time around.
