5 Months Old

Jonathan turned 5 months old this past week - boy does time fly!

Jonathan, you...

• are 15lbs, 15oz and 27 1/2 in = 50th% weight and 95th% height
  
• are wearing mostly 6-9 month clothes
• wear a size 2 disposable diaper and have gone up a set of snaps in your cloth diaper covers
• still love to chew on EVERYTHING
• are becoming more and more aware of what goes on around you, which is a lot of fun to watch
• are making new noises almost every day - and you think you are so funny when you make them :-)
  
• LOVE being outside
• sleep about 10 hours at night, with one quick feeding and right back to sleep after 8 hours
• take a good morning nap, an decent afternoon nap, and a quick evening nap
  
• are very interested in the food Mommy and Daddy eat, but you are still exclusively breastfed - mommy is waiting for warmer weather to come, sick season to pass, and an upcoming trip to be finished before we start you on any foods (and mommy is a little lazy and isn't ready to start fixing food for you and cleaning up after feeding you)
• love books
  
• had your first hair trim this past week - goodbye long scraggly hair on your neck and over your ears!
• love to smile and laugh, and are just starting to get a little bashful with strangers - you smile big at them, but then quickly hide your smile in mommy's shoulder
• like to play with mommy's hair and face while nursing, which mommy thinks is just precious
• will stop whatever you are doing and look around for Daddy when you hear his voice on speakerphone
• roll from your tummy to back all the time, but have no interest in going from your back to tummy
• have 2 blue crocheted blankets that you love, and always sleep with one or the other - you grasp the blanket and poke your fingers through the holes and rub it in your face while falling asleep
• really like the wrap, and we use the one Ms. Robin made us so much, that Granma Vickers made us a second one!
  
• suck the middle fingers on your left hand
• love sitting up, but can't quite manage it by yourself yet
• play with the fat rolls on your legs, which is too funny!
• LOVE playing peek a boo

Playing with books is almost as much fun as reading them!
